We stum­bled upon The Em­press in South Kens­ing­ton and what a dis­cov­ery it was! The Vic­to­ri­an build­ing prac­ti­cal­ly oozes charm with­out feel­ing pre­ten­tious. Right away, the warmth of the staff and the beau­ti­ful in­te­ri­or caught our at­ten­tion – think rich fab­rics and daz­zling light fix­tures. They spe­cial­ize in mod­ern Eu­ro­pean dish­es, and though we only had time for drinks, the plates go­ing past looked in­cred­i­ble. With its re­fined am­biance and con­ve­nient spot, The Em­press is ide­al for a cel­e­bra­tion or just a touch of up­scale re­lax­ation.
