We stum­bled upon the Snus & Match Mu­se­um dur­ing our vis­it to Skansen, the open-air mu­se­um on Djurgår­den is­land, and were pleas­ant­ly sur­prised by this unique find. Ex­plor­ing the mu­se­um was like tak­ing a trip through time, re­veal­ing the sur­pris­ing­ly in­ter­est­ing sto­ries be­hind these every­day ob­jects. The dis­plays, set with­in metic­u­lous­ly de­signed his­tor­i­cal en­vi­ron­ments, vivid­ly showed the de­vel­op­ment of snuff and match­es. A high­light for us was the hands-on work­shops where we could un­leash our cre­ativ­i­ty by craft­ing and dec­o­rat­ing our own match­box­es – a tru­ly spe­cial sou­venir from this charm­ing and in­trigu­ing mu­se­um.
