Step­ping into PUB­LIC Ho­tel feels like en­ter­ing a dif­fer­ent New York. Ian Schrager’s sig­na­ture min­i­mal­ist de­sign is every­where, cre­at­ing a sleek and so­phis­ti­cat­ed at­mos­phere that's in­stant­ly calm­ing. Our room was a breath of fresh air—lit­er­al­ly. Floor-to-ceil­ing win­dows made the space feel huge and flood­ed it with day­light, of­fer­ing some in­cred­i­ble city views. When hunger struck, we head­ed down to PUB­LIC Kitchen for some in­ven­tive Amer­i­can fare. The real show­stop­per, though, is the rooftop bar. En­joy­ing a drink with that panoram­ic cityscape as your back­drop is an es­sen­tial New York mo­ment. It’s a styl­ish base for any city ad­ven­ture.
