National Art Museum of China

About

Stepping into the National Art Museum of China is like taking a journey through the country's artistic evolution. Opened in 1963, the museum's main building, an impressive structure covering over 18,000 square meters, houses a vast collection of over 100,000 artworks. You'll find yourself captivated by pieces spanning from the late Ming Dynasty to modern masterpieces. The focus is on art from the period surrounding the birth of the People's Republic, offering a unique

glimpse into this pivotal era. The museum continually evolves thanks to generous donations from artists and their families, ensuring its collection remains dynamic and engaging. For decades, the National Art Museum of China has presented thousands of impactful exhibitions, showcasing both Chinese and international artists, solidifying its position as a leading institution in the art world. With a new branch slated for construction, the museum's future promises to be just as bright as its past.
