like Tol­stoy and Dos­to­evsky came alive through thought­ful­ly cu­rat­ed dis­plays, of­fer­ing a glimpse into the evo­lu­tion of Russ­ian thought. The mu­se­um's ex­plo­ration of piv­otal his­tor­i­cal mo­ments, from the reign of the Ro­manovs to the in­tri­ca­cies of the So­vi­et era, is both in­sight­ful and thought-pro­vok­ing. We left with a new­found ap­pre­ci­a­tion for this com­plex and of­ten mis­un­der­stood na­tion.
