Walk­ing into Mum's feels like step­ping into some­one's home - if that some­one cooked in­cred­i­ble Ja­maican food, that is. For­get fan­cy decor, it's all about the in­tox­i­cat­ing aro­ma of jerk spice and the friend­ly buzz of con­ver­sa­tion. We went for a late lunch and de­voured ten­der cur­ried goat with

a moun­tain of rice and peas, the por­tions gen­er­ous enough to de­feat even the biggest ap­petite. Don't be fooled though, they haven't for­got­ten their Eng­lish menu; the fish and chips dis­ap­peared just as quick­ly from our ta­ble. This is no-frills, au­then­tic cook­ing that leaves you want­i­ng to come back for more.
