The Gan­sevoort Meat­pack­ing NYC has a pulse you can feel the mo­ment you walk in. It’s got that quin­tes­sen­tial Meat­pack­ing Dis­trict edge. The lob­by is a slick mix of mod­ern art and in­dus­tri­al de­sign, al­ways alive with a cer­tain kind of en­er­gy. Our room was im­pres­sive, with huge win­dows that just pulled in the city light. But the real show­stop­per is the rooftop pool and bar. The 360-de­gree views of the sky­line are sim­ply in­cred­i­ble. Sip­ping a cock­tail up there as the sun sets over the Hud­son Riv­er is a core New York mem­o­ry for us now. It's a chic, see-and-be-seen kind of place that de­liv­ers on its promise of a styl­ish city es­cape.
