Black Cultural Archives

About

BCA, or the Black Cultural Archives, was founded in 1981 with the objective of gathering, conserving, and appreciating the outstanding accomplishments of Black people to the culture, society, and heritage of the United Kingdom. The archives house a substantial assortment of one-of-a-kind treasures that include papers, photographs, and oral artifacts as well as objects that go as far back as the second century. These items provide a captivating look into the history of Black Britons. Even though BCA is

often disregarded, it collaborates with several organizations and provides public programs with the aim of educating and cultivating relationships among different communities via this vital heritage. At present, BCA is constructing the first-ever Black heritage center in the UK, to be located in Windrush Square at the heart of Brixton, London, and eagerly anticipates the launch of this significant enterprise.
