Walk­ing into Al­ice’s Tea Cup on the Up­per West Side feels like you’ve stum­bled down a rab­bit hole into a sto­ry­book. The place is full of whim­si­cal charm, from the col­or­ful walls to the mis­matched chi­na, cre­at­ing a fun, mag­i­cal set­ting with­out be­ing over the top. While their tea list is en­cy­clo­pe­dic, the real rea­son we keep com­ing back

is for the scones. We or­dered the pump­kin va­ri­ety, and they ar­rived per­fect­ly warm with gen­er­ous pots of clot­ted cream and jam. The crowd is a hap­py mix of fam­i­lies (kids get their own fairy wings!) and friends catch­ing up over af­ter­noon tea. It’s a won­der­ful­ly unique spot for a mem­o­rable week­end brunch that tru­ly feels like an es­cape.
